This site is about the W4BRM repeater, associated IAX/Allstar and WIRES-X nodes as well as broad band microwave connections.

"AREDN5" and "AREDN2" are links to the status page of a 5.9 GHz and 2.4 GHz Amateur Radio Emergency Data Network mesh nodes (not all pages are reachable from the web). These nodes (wireless routers) will accept connections from any line-of-sight station using the AREDN firmware. The 5.9 GHz antenna is 120 degree sector MIMO antenna 90 ft AGL and 1170 ft ASL, facing ESE. The 5.9 Ghz KE2N node is linked to the 2.4 GHz Front Royal mesh at High Knob and bridged to the MAIPN system running up through MD and PA . "Tunnel" is a small local 2.4 GHz mesh connected to many other meshes by way of an internet tunnel. It is independent of AREDN2/AREDN5.

  • All analog repeaters require 77.0 Hz CTCSS.
  • 927.625/902.625 machine - antenna is not very high yet and no linking.
  • Node 27021 is 448.225/443.225 MHz Analog & C4FM - it has an asterisk trunk line to a PBX on the Front Royal mesh network and can be reached by registered SIP phones (independent of the Internet).
  • Node 28204 is 224.400/222.800 MHz.
  • Node 51082 is 53.49/52.49 MHz.
  • Node 1708 is a hub note that includes the A/D-D/A link (bridge) from the analog "cluster" to the DMR repeater (TS2) using DVSwitch and a ThumbDV.
  • Node 1974 is an Asterisk hub node for Echolink #522456. It provides a connection point independent of the individual repeaters. It also does Broadcastify and DVSwitch Mobile. Clicking on this node will display the EchoLink node numbers of any attached E/L stations with a prefix of "3" added.
  • Note that 448.225/443.225 MHz is both Analog and C4FM "Fusion" - when digital stations are being repeated, analog users will not hear audio but can "break into" a digital QSO simply by transmitting during a break.

    On the menu bar, click on the node numbers to see each local node (and manage it if you have a login ID). These pages dynamically display any remote nodes that are connected to it. When a signal is received the remote node will move to the top of the list and will have a green background. The most recently received nodes will always be at the top of the list.

    "Listen" will start a web player providing streaming audio from the 1974 node. Actual data rate is 16kb/s MP3 format. Right-click to open it in a new/separate window.

    "DSTAR" is a link to the DSTAR "Dashboard" the G4KLX/ircDDB Gateway of DSTAR Repeaters W4BRM-B and W4BRM-C (formerly N4USI-C). Right-click to open the DSTAR Dashboard in a new window. These pages update once per minute.

    "FUSION" shows information from the WIRES-X network (HRI200) and the FCS network (DV4mini) if connected.

    "DMR" shows information from the BrandMeister network for the DMR repeater (a Motorola SLR5700).

    "WX" is a link to the Weather Underground site showing data from the W4BRM weather station. This data can heard on the air (via text-to-speech) by sending DTMF *9900 to the 448.225 repeater.

    "CAM" is a link to a web cam at the tower top.

    BULLETINS: We trasmit Amateur Radio Newsline and the ARRL Audio News, Saturday and Sunday mornings, at 9 and 10 AM, respectively, on all the analog repeaters.

    {All audio on the W4BRM analog system is automatically recorded to disk. All DSTAR callsigns are logged. EchoLink connects are announced and recorded. Connections to the broadband node are logged.}
